WORK EXPERIENCE:

November 1998 to Present E & I Engineering Ltd.

Electrical Designer for various projects in the pulp and paper, mining, sawmills and petrochemical industries.

  • Competed 3D models and associated 2D drawings for tray layouts, lighting design, grounding systems, PLC cabinets, wiring diagrams for the fryer upgrade at Cavendish Farms.

  • Competed 3D models and associated 2D drawings for tray layouts, lighting design, underground duct system, grounding systems, PLC cabinets, wiring diagrams for the Thermal Oil Plant at St. Leonard Sawmill.

  • Competed 3D models and associated 2D drawings for tray layouts, lighting design, underground duct system and grounding systems for the rebuild of the Clarifier and Anaerobic Plant Electrical System at Lake Utopia Paper.

  • Drawing Coordinator for Gardner Electric at the LNG Plant in Saint John, NB.

  • Field work and drawing control at CNRL for D&L Instrumentation

  • General drafting for Irving Pulp and Paper Kiln Natural Gas Project.

January 1994 to November 1998 Carleton Financial Services 

Worked in the financial services industry during which time became the Branch Manager and Financial Advisor for Carleton Financial Services in Bathurst, NB.

June 1992 to September 1993 Gardner Electric Ltd. 

Worked as a Layout Technician for an electrical contractor responsible for the major cabling contract for a new 450MW coal fired generating station. Main duties included scheduling of cable installation and production reporting during the construction project.

July 1991 to November 1991 Docu-Plus Ltd. 

Co-founder of company, which was set up to provide Cad Services as well as Cad Operator Training. One major client was Brunswick Mining and Smelting in which electrical drafting and training were provided.

October 1990 to May 1991 Harris and Roome Ltd. 

Automation Controls Specialist located in Bathurst, NB responsible for promotion and sales of electronic automation equipment. During this time attended several training courses on Allen-Bradley PLC’s and related equipment. Major clients included companies in the mining and pulp and paper industries.

May 1974 to September 1990 Brunswick Mining and Smelting Ltd.

Electrical Designer working in the Engineering and Drafting Departments of a 10,000 ton per day lead-zinc mine located in Bathurst, NB. Reported to Engineering Manager and carried out work under the supervision of Engineers. Duties included:

  • CAD system operator with stand-alone platform. 
  • Assistant System Manager overseeing the VAX730 and plotting system. 
  • Preparation and design of electrical CAD drawings. 
  • Giving training courses in PLC operation to all electrical staff. 
  • Design of various electrical projects in lighting, heating, relays, power layouts and electrical distribution.
August 1967 to February 1974 Fraser Companies Ltd.

Electrical Designer working in the Engineering Department of a pulp and paper mill located in Edmundston, NB. Duties included:

  • Preparation of electrical drawings of instrumentation controls. 
  • Assisting the electrical engineer in designing capital and maintenance projects.
